Without Being Crucified, We Will Not Be Resurrected, We Will Not Be Glorified
Without Being Crucified, We Will Not Be Resurrected, We Will Not Be Glorified
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou
“Their sound hath gone forth into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.”
— Psalm 19:4
Piercing, liberating, revealing, and strengthening are the words of the God-illumined Holy Fathers, balm to the soul and light to the mind. This is also true of the Grace-filled, wise and penetrating words of Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou. Distilling the wisdom and divine enlightenment imparted to him personally by some of the greatest saints of our age — Saints Paisios, Porphyrios, Iakovos, Evmenios and Gerontissa Galaktia — this good shepherd's words pull you out of the deadening numbness of the world and into the compunctionate sweetness of the aroma of repentance and holiness.
Covering the entire spectrum of the spiritual life, from the heights of humility to the depths of repentance, the prophetic insights of the saints are applied to our life and times. Thus, we become communicants of their divinely-inspired and imparted freedom with thanksgiving welling up from our hearts and trust sprouting from the "good ground," as we go from the glory of the Cross to the the glory of the Resurrection.
