Sts Vladimir, Boris and Gleb Icon 5" x 4"
Sts Vladimir, Boris and Gleb Icon 5" x 4"
This icon features three of the most beloved saints of early Rus'. On the right is Saint Vladimir the Great, known as Equal-to-the-Apostles, who brought Christianity to the Russian lands with the Baptism of Kiev in 988. He is shown holding a church, symbolizing his foundational role in establishing the Orthodox faith.
To the left are his sons, Saints Boris and Gleb, the first saints canonized in Kievan Rus’. Martyred during a dynastic struggle, they chose not to resist violence with violence, becoming models of Christian meekness and sacrificial love. They are revered as passion-bearers—those who suffer in imitation of Christ, not for doctrine but for virtue.
Clad in royal garments and golden halos, the three saints together represent the spiritual birth of Orthodox Russia. A powerful icon of royal sanctity, sacrifice, and the roots of Christian faith in the Slavic world.
Perfect for prayer, history lovers, or anyone devoted to the saints of Rus'.
